Privacy policy

Last updated 25 October 2026

Task Quest helps families turn everyday routines into a game. Grown-ups set up routines and rewards; children tick off tasks on their own device to earn XP, coins and badges. This policy explains what we store, why, and how to have it deleted.

Who is responsible

Task Quest is run by Paul Caine, an individual developer in the United Kingdom. Contact: [email protected].

What we store

Payments

Subscriptions are bought through Google Play or the Apple App Store, which handle your payment details under their own privacy policies. We never see or store your card details; we only receive whether your subscription is active.

What we don’t do

How it is used

Only to run the app: showing each child their tasks, awarding XP and rewards, syncing between your family’s devices, and sending reminders and alerts you can switch off (or silence with quiet hours).

Where it is kept

Data is stored with Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions and Firebase Cloud Messaging) in the London region (europe-west2), and is encrypted in transit and at rest. Google acts as our data processor.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep your family’s data while your account is active. To delete your account and all of your family’s data, email [email protected] from your account’s address; we will delete it within 30 days. Unpairing a kid device in the app removes it from your family straight away.

Children

Task Quest is designed for parents and carers to use with their children. A grown-up creates the family, adds each child and pairs each child’s device; children cannot create accounts. We follow the UK Age Appropriate Design Code principles of collecting as little as possible and keeping high-privacy defaults.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how it is used. Contact us at the address above. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell grown-ups in the app.
